
Los
Mochis Cañeros broke a four on the road defeats thanks to an excellent
pitching by Alonso Beltran and three other pitchers, whose combined
their strength to leave Hermosillo Naranjeros in three hits and
defeating them 2-0.
This
defeat damaged Naranjeros aspirations to climb up to first place in the
standing, although needed Eagles to be defeated. Now they will have to
struggle to keep the seven points of second place.

It
was the second shut out that Hermosillo allows in the season, the first
at home, after they suffered one against Navojoa Mayos last October 18,
when Octavio Alvarez, Isauro Pineda and Julio Valerio pitched for four
hits
It
was until sixth inning when Alonso Beltran (1-0) allowed the first hit
and lost his no hitter, Trenidad Hubbard hit a double by center field
covering center fielder Victor Bojorquez.

In
seventh ining was attacked again and was about to loose zeros, after he
dominated Dave Doster, grounded out to third base, grant Grabowski a
walk and Humberto Cota singled, but was out in second base trying to
extend his hit.
Beltran pitched six innings and two thirds, for two hits, three walks
and struck out one. Mauro Nieblas followed him with a third; Edgar
Lizarraga two-thirds another hit and Carlos Chavez (2) with one inning
and one out, to obtain the save.

For
the first time in the season, a Naranjeros pitcher stayed all the route,
Gil Heredia (2-1), he maintained nine innings where he accepted six
hits, no walks and struck eight out, but he did not have concentration
two times earning two runs.
After
retiring four in a row, Manuel Cazarin hit a ball, sending it behind
left field fence for a solo homer. In seventh inning was Victor
Bojorquez, who also hit a homer, scored run two. The first home run for
both.

For
Cañeros only four men reached bases, Pedro Mere with hit in first inning
and double in second. In the same inning Jesus Arredondo hit a single
and Bojorquez double in fifth, moreover the homers.
Today
the curtain will fall for first round in Mex – Pac. Steve Randolph (3-1)
will try to give Hermosillo seven points, almost there, while for Los
Mochis David Dominguez (2-0) will start. The game will begin at 19:30
hours, Sonora Time.
