giving Guasave Algodoneros a 3-2 victory over Hermosillo Naranjeros.
This is the sixth defeat Naranjeros have in their
last seven games, after a sweep-up over Navojoa Mayos; moreover, its was
the third game rookie sensation left with advantage, the second against
Guasave.
Gonzalez is still searching for Tim Leary’s record
of more game won without defeat with nine established when he was with
Tijuana Colts in Season 1987-88. His next start will be, at Hermosillo,
on December 22 against Mexicali.
After four innings with two runs, Algodoneros took at
bat in the bottom of the eighth inning, one out, David Sinohui granted a
walk to Julio Zuleta, and then Mendez hit the homer to left field.
It was a homer that gave Guasave the tie-up at two
runs and the victory, because they have scored another one in third
inning; when they hit two doubles back-to-back by Noe Muñoz and Oswaldo
Morejon, this one sent his teammate to home plate.
